T O P I C R E V I E WCosmiqPhuzI'm curious about how things would work out with a new love interest. She's a Gemini, I'm a Libra. Apparently, our synastry is pretty good. However, I have Venus in Scorpio while she has Venus in Gemini. From everything I've read about Venus in Gemini, it seems like I should stay away. But of course, I can't! Me: Rising - Gemini 14° Sun - Libra 27° Moon - Libra 7° Mercury - Scorpio 11° Venus - Scorpio 12° Mars - Libra 7° Jupiter - Aries 24° Saturn - Sagittarius 17° Uranus - Sagittarius 23° Neptune - Capricorn 5° Pluto - Scorpio 9°Her: Rising - don't know her birth time Sun - Gemini 8° Moon - Scorpio 16° Mercury - Gemini 26° Venus - Gemini 29° Mars - Pisces 4° Jupiter - Taurus 18° Saturn - Capricorn 0° Uranus - Sagittarius 29° Neptune - Capricorn 9° Pluto - Scorpio 10° What do you guys think?Vajra.CosmiqPhuzThanks Vajra. We seem to get along very well and have good chemistry, but we're still getting to know eachother.Sometimes, we would just sit and stare at eachother without talking for minutes at a time and it's surprisingly not awkward. Not your typical Gemini from what I've known, a bit more quiet.Aries23DegreesI have Venus in Scorpio/Mars in Libra too. And I find myself attracted to or attracting air Venus signs.I have had romantic leanings with 3 Venus in Gemini people so far.You two share some pretty nice aspects.Your Mercury conjuncts her Moon. You say what she is feeling and have your head(Mercury) on her pulse(Moon)!Your Moon trines her Sun: You are very much the details(Moon) of what she epitomizes herself to be(Sun). The pages to her novel- so to speakHer Mercury trines your Sun. You feel that she just "gets"(Mercury) the essence of whom you are(Sun).Your Venus in Scorpio trines her Mars in Pisces. She finds you very attractive and you find her aura/energy pleasing. You like to be around her and she you(Venus/Mars trine).Your Moon/Mars Libra conjunct is too attractive for her to resist. Whilst her Mercury/Venus conjunct in Gemini has such a beautiful way with words, you can get spellbound There are so many good aspects between you two,its no wonder you are drawn to each other. Aunt AnomaliaThe Venus-Mars trine would be 8 deg wide. I think it's too wide to count.------------------Anomaling around since 1911.Ami AnneWelcome, C ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/CosmiqPhuzThanks for the lowdown, Aries23Degrees! Yea, it seems we have a lot of good aspects (I don't think I've had any better synastry with anyone else before). I notice we're both air/water mixtures. From what I've been told, that can be a confusing mix to some people.Aunt Anomalia, if 8 degrees is too wide, is it safe to say that my Mars doesn't square her Venus either? Thanks Ami Anne. I've been a longtime reader here, hoping to participate more in discussions. Vajra.CosmiqPhuz quote:Originally posted by Vajra: It's not necessary to see it so black-and-white, as in saying that if the trine were within a certain orb, say 5°, it would produce an effect, but if it would be one degree wider at 6 or 7 degrees orb it would suddenly have no effect at all. That doesn't make any sense, at least not to me. Maybe just look at it this way: Your Venus placement means that you express your Love principle in a Scorpionic way, while she expresses her Mars principle (libido, aggression) in a Piscean way. These signs are naturally trine since they're both water signs, so the expression of these energies between the two of you is naturally harmonious, whether the aspect is exact or not. Of course that's something, it's not nothing. But with a wider orb, this particular energy would nevertheless not be among the more prominent (i.e. most noticeable) features of your interactions, it would be more something like a background vibe that gives the relationship an overall harmonious coloring.Maybe it also helps to think of your synastry as if it were a piece of music. What you hear immediately and focus on the most - e.g. the lead singer performing the refrain, or the louder instrumental themes which are easiest to identify - would be the equivalent of your most exact synastric aspects, while the elements of the song that you don't consciously notice at first, but which fill the entire background of the piece - like a softly sung chorus, or some melodious background layers of the music - would be the equivalent of such harmonious, but inexact aspects as your Venus-Mars trine. Energy-laden, disharmonious or disruptive sounds/themes would then be akin to the more challenging aspects; and all of it together creates the sum total of the musical impression you get when hearing the complete piece, and the balance of it all decides whether it's a peaceful, forceful, melodious, sad, or a happy song. Does that mental picture maybe help a bit to distinguish between more and less influential aspects?I get what you're saying Vajra. It's important to consider the signs and not just the numbers, right? Then, would a Libra Mars square Gemini Venus by degrees be lessened by the fact that Libra and Gemini are both air? I love the piece of music analogy you used to explain that. I've never thought of it that way. Hopefully the main melody is heard and not too many notes out of key! It's going good so far. quote:Originally posted by Vajra: Glad the music analogy helped you! Yes, I think in the example you mentioned, the square energy would indeed be diluted due to both planets being in air signs. That would be a so-called out-of-sign aspect, and those are weaker than aspects where the planets are also in the corresponding (e.g. squared) signs. To give an example from my natal chart, I have a Mars-Uranus opposition (orb 1°58, thus pretty close), but the planets are not in opposite signs - Mars is in Taurus, Uranus in Libra, and thus both happen to be in Venus-ruled signs. My impression is that while the volatile energy of the Mars-Uranus opposition is still there and gives me quite the temper on occasion, my temper nevertheless lacks the nastiness of a true Mars-Uranus opposition in opposite signs (e.g. if Mars were still in Aries). At least that's how I perceive it - but I realize self-observation may not be totally reliable to assess the effect here Thanks Vajra. Some people tend to go exclusively by degrees and aspects disregarding signs while others only care about signs. quote:Originally posted by Seimei: Libra and Pisces are quincunx , no where near square.
